I've always had a strong desire to help others since I was a child. I recall sitting with my great grandmother in the hospital when she was ill, and despite my obvious concern, there was an amazing fascination surrounding everything that was going on. This, combined with an interest in medicine and science, would lead me down the path I've taken thus far. Later in my adolescence, my mother became acutely ill and was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, which required ongoing monitoring. Now that the disease has progressed significantly, I am continuing with her on her disease management path. When I was younger, anytime a member of my family became unwell, I would always offer to help, even if it was with simple activities like cleaning or cooking. Simple activities I took allowed my caring nature to grow so ingrained in my psyche that it became not only a passion but a way of life. My empathy and concern for my work are held to the highest standards. It is a major reason I continue to pursue a career in nursing. My goal is to gain as much knowledge as possible, and my integrity speaks for itself. My interpersonal skills and experience, as well as my ability to relate to people, are what distinguishes a good nurse from a great nurse.
