Dedicated volunteer wildlife keeper with extensive experience in animal care and rehabilitation. Proven ability to provide exceptional care for diverse species and ensure high standards of husbandry.
Hello to my future employers, my name is Sarah.
I have vast experience caring for domestic and wildlife animals.
Domestic animals: I have experience with ownership, training, rescuing, and rehabilitation of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, mice, goats, cows, fish, and many species of birds.
Wildlife: I have gained most of my knowledge by working as a volunteer with the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for over two years.
In this position, I have cared for many species.
The main animals I have had in my care are Greater Gliders, Feather-Tailed Gliders, Sugar Gliders, Yellow-Bellied Gliders, bilbies, Red-Necked Wallabies, Tamar Wallabies, Cape Barren Geese, echidnas, and Spinifex Hopping Mice.
Throughout this position, I have developed not only my love for all species of animals, but especially for small, native Australian mammals.
I have gained knowledge on their care, including those of their husbandry requirements.
I have experience in capture and restraint, weighing, feeding, and dietary needs through preparation, cleaning, and sanitization per species.
I have basic knowledge of veterinary care from my experience, as well as my TAFE course in Cert 3 Captive Animals, and I also recognize enclosure security as a very important measure.
