Sean McTrustry

Given my experience from my previous role as a Master’s student, working in the engineering field and my current role as a train driver with Sydney Trains, I can bring a helpful perspective to the role of Learning Design Specialist. I have strong written communication skills, as well as a practical understanding of the Sydney Trains network, safe working as well as first-hand experience with operation of rolling stock. I'm capable of working autonomously, as well as part of a team. I am currently certified in European Train Control/Automatic Train Protection Level 1 and feel this will be helpful knowledge and experience i can contribute to the team. I would be excited to develop my career within Sydney Trains and I see this position as a Learning Design Specialist as a great opportunity to learn more about the business as well as offer my unique experience to the team.

• Developed and delivered operating procedures and instructions for plant equipment and processes while working in engineering.
• Developed a computer model and accompanying documentation for educational use and experimentation at the University of Wollongong as part of an ongoing project in the engineering department.
• Produced reports and documents from processed data in an engineering context.
• Communicated information from projects to both technical and non-technical audiences through written reports, visual, and spoken presentations.
• Current and up-to-date understanding and practical application of Sydney Trains Safe Working.
• Experience and awareness of workplace safety, particularly in potentially hazardous environments such as train yards and maintenance centers, manufacturing plants, and engineering facilities.
