My goal is to ideally to finish my apprenticeship in boilermaking. As I want to get a start on my ideal career young, I have moved from Mount Isa to scenic rim region to secure employment with in hope of finding the opportunity to begin making steps toward my dream career as a boilermaker
I am currently in my middle of my 3rd year apprenticeship and willing to work in a more controlled environment and more insite of what I can take up as an apprentice.

- Correctly identify problems on the equipment that needs to be replaced or repaired.
- Correctly isolate and positive communication to supervisor and operator to insure equipment is safe to operate.
- Pre starting equipment
- Pre start tools to insure welder is running smoothly and efficiently and up to Australian standardss
- Preheating material to insure the welds are fully infused and up to Australian standards.
- Oxy/carbon arc gouging, grinding and welding cracks and prepping materials to insure welds are in the Australian standards.
- Interpret drawings and manufacturing jigs and components.
- Replace worn teeth on CAT buckets and Sandvic Buckets.
2nd Year Apprentice boilermaker

- Working on shafts and Hoistings, understanding how distortion plays a big part when it comes to shaft works.
- fabricating wear bars in place of skip bins.
- Fabricate and manufacture handrails in place.
- Regular inspections in place to insure the skip runs smoothly and function properly.
- Shaft inspections, to insure there is no rocks or build up salt on the steel beams.
- Spot and assess when they monitor the ropes/steel cables when an “MPT” is in place “Metal Particle Testing”.
- Repair damaged flooring such as replacing and manufacturing steel floor mesh.
- Following SOPs and keeping up to safe work procedures.
