Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular maintenance, safety, performance tests and repair of biomedical equipment, taking into consideration cost, quality and timeliness, ensure that unit is safe for clinical use in accordance with Australian Standards and manufacturer's recommendations and recording work carried out in Pulse.
  • Perform preventative maintenance schedule of medical equipment and patient areas and ensure annual maintenance is completed within a timely manner.
  • Undertake technical training to perform maintenance on medical equipment, create and review equipment performance verification procedures as well as review equipment contracts.
  • Perform equipment evaluation & Decommissioning of unsafe units and update clinical staff on removing unsafe equipment from clinical use as well as ensured the biomedical engineering asset database is maintained and updated regularly with the latest data.
