  • As an ANUM tasks and responsibilities included managing a 24-bed ward in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager, coordinating the daily and effective activities of the ward.
  • Tasks more specific to the ANUM role includes conflict management and resolution, coordination and communication with a multidisciplinary team, attending bed meetings with bed coordinators, seeking and identifying the need to escalate care as required, attending ward rounds with medical staff and providing thorough handover between shifts.
  • In the absence of the NUM, I have been required to be acting NUM for 2 weeks and was responsible for the conversion of the ward to a COVID ward during this time.
