Main duties and responsibilities include:

• Implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control procedures as per Komatsu QMS for all incoming parts, either from local suppliers or global suppliers
• Maintaining compliance with minning regulatory or customer specific requirements.
• Being a certified inspector, I conduct inspections of certified (Ex) mechanical and mining parts used in hazardous environments to ensure safety and reliability in mining operations by checking material specification(NDT/Pressure Test), dimensions of parts with manufacturing drawing(CAD), weldings sizes and shapes.
• Generating and uploading reports (Certificate of Conformity) to Declaration of Conformity portal for certified (ex) parts to comply with regulations.
• Managing inspection team to inspect and supply parts required urgently for building Komatsu's machines.
• Liaison with local and global Komatsu teams to identify and resolve quality issues or any engineering changes.
• Raising rework jobs for any engineering changes in parts to rectify the issue and meet engineering standards and requirements.
• Making sure that certified parts are made from materials that meet specific standards for strength, durability, and resistance to wear and tear, especially crucial in the harsh mining environment.
• Investigating local or global non-conformances using RCA tools (5 Whys/Fishbone) and raising quality notifications/NCRs against the suppliers for continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Doing material credits in SAP for non-conforming parts that have failed because of some issues.
• Doing stock management by balancing the inventory using SAP transactions.
• Facilitating internal and external audits to assess compliance with company policies and procedures, uncover areas for improvement, and ensure alignment across departments.
• Increased accuracy of test results by calibrating instruments and equipment regularly, maintaining proper functioning throughout projects.
• Implementing 5S and raising weekly safety observations in velocity(WHS portal), to make a safer workplace is Komatsu's top priority.
• Training new inspectors about the whole quality assurance and inspection processes and requirements as per Komatsu QMS.
