  • We typically worked with1:1 ratio but during difficult times this could increase to1:2 ventilated patients
  • Neurological, Cardiac, Respiratory, Major Trauma, Mental Health, Head and Neck, hemofiltration, Spinal, Organ Donation, Brain stem testing, Post operative and transferring a ventilated patient
  • Most patients required ventilation were ETT tube or tracheostomy care was required
  • In order to keep patients safe the safe administration of sedation is required where I can confidently titrate this appropriately
  • Regular blood monitoring would allow me to monitor ventilation and body mechanics and act accordingly
  • Empathetic to both patients and families and have been able to communicate effectively with families during what may be their most difficult times
  • I have also been able to work comfortably and effectively as part of the multi-disciplinary team, communicating with physio therapists, consultants, charge nurses and many more members of the team.
  • Mentored newly hired nurses in the development of their clinical skills and knowledge base specific to the unique requirements of the Medical Intensive Care Unit setting.
