Role Purpose:

• To provide 24-hour specialist palliative care within the Brisbane area to patients with a life limiting condition, both within their homes and in Residential Aged Care facilities. Support of families and carers.

Key Achievements:

• Case Manage patients within a specific area of Brisbane, providing expert palliative care
• Share knowledge both within my team and externally.
• Involvement in Multidisciplinary Care Meetings
• Mentor, develop and manage staff to ensure quality care.
• Communicate with other organisations to provide holistic end of life care
• Continuous quality improvement.

Role Purpose:

• Provide expert, safe care for patients undergoing treatment including administration of Chemotherapy
• Education for patients and families, liaison with other health disciplines

Areas of Responsibility:

• Provide leadership, support, education and expert advice to patients, their families and other staff members
• Manage a responsive, capable and operationally effective busy day oncology unit
• Safe management of waste cytotoxic products to ensure zero harm
