Funded by the Department of Health, Tasmania, the HR Transformation Program encompassed three key projects: HRIS implementation, a new Service Delivery Model (SDM), and HR Case Management System (HRCMS) implementation. In these projects, I wore multiple hats, primarily functioning as a Business Analyst.
• HRIS Implementation: Mapped current and future state processes for HR functions such as Recruitment, Employee Relations, Workers Compensation, Work Health and Safety, and Workplace Flexibility Arrangements. Engaged with stakeholders to identify gaps and propose process improvements, securing sign-off from business owners.
• SDM Implementation: Documented approximately 600 FAQs for system go-live. Developed the training plan and assisted in creating user manuals for the new SDM system.
• Oversee market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies.
• HRCMS Implementation: Drafted current state processes for handling complaints via Equal Opportunity Tasmania, and managed employee absence and abandonment processes in compliance with Tasmanian State Service policies
The TasGRN Project is a collaborative state government project to transition eight core User Organisations (UOs), currently using five separate radio communications networks, onto one unified, digital and interoperable radio network which is being implemented with Telstra and Motorola as the key service providers. As a Business Analyst in the PMO, I was responsible for project governance, creating key documents such as the Risk Management Plan, Issue Management Plan, Document Management Plan, and PMO Charter. I utilised my Business Intelligence skills to develop dashboards, charts, and schedules using Smartsheet for the User Organisations involved. I also collaborated closely with these organisations, supporting their project management plans.
In my role as a Test Analyst, I drafted high-level test schedules and comprehensive test management plans for all User Organisations. I created solutions matrices to clarify the scope and elements to be tested and guided the User Organisations through pre-test activities. During this time, I also became a Certified Test Analyst by ISTQB, enhancing my expertise in quality assurance practices.
As a Graduate Business Analyst at TasNetworks, I was assigned to the esteemed Network Operations and Control Systems (NOCS) team. During my tenure, I played a pivotal role in a significant system replacement project within the company. The project involved consolidating the two major NOCS software systems used for distribution and transmission control rooms into a single, off-the-shelf software solution. My responsibilities included documenting option analysis of the software, crafting a comprehensive business case to seek financial approval for the project, and presenting my findings before senior managers and executives. This experience has honed my analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, while also providing valuable insights into the complex world of enterprise software implementations.
