Print Account Manager - Foxtel

  • I was based at an on site service centre within Foxtel to manage the print component of this account
  • Foxtel run bi monthly direct marketing campaigns of which we were responsible for the print, mail processing and lodgement
  • I specifically looked after the placement of print within our own company or externally in order to achieve tight deadlines, cost effectiveness and the most appropriate supplier for each print job
  • Our client and I worked closely in regard to negotiating timings and researching various new ways to present ideas for their direct marketing campaigns
  • Mail processing and Lodgement is a key area within this account so I worked with our Mailing Account Manager in order to assess the validity of direct mail pieces and their suitability/cost effectiveness given the client's budget for their mailing component
  • As part of the life cycle of a print job, we were required to be in constant contact with multiple advertising agencies producing the client's artwork
  • Primarily, it was my responsibility to take a job from print brief through to completion dealing with any obstacles that may occur and managing the client's expectations for a positive outcome
  • A large part of this role involved building a relationship with a diverse group of people
  • This was often a stressful environment as it is a business driven by sales in an economy not geared toward supporting this kind of monthly leisure expense
  • Therefore marketing strategies are able to change literally within hours
  • We were tasked with being able to accommodate large print and mail pack runs with very little time to receive artwork, produce and complete
  • Along with managing the client's expectations, we needed to facilitate a working partnership with our suppliers
  • It was important to balance the client's needs with the supplier's physical ability to deliver
  • A lot of 'time juggling' was required between both client, agency, printer and ourselves
  • Our interaction with all of these people was vital to the successful production of a print piece that conformed to several criteria whether it was specifically for mailing, promotion or corporate identity
