  • As a student researcher, I conducted experiments focused on innovative cancer treatments. This encompassed project organization, inventive approaches, data collection, and analysis
  • Maintaining cancer cell lines and performing experiments in order to collect and interpret data.
  • Maintain a sterile environment, by practicing aseptic techniques to avoid cross contamination of cell lines and bacterial cultures as well as to protect myself and co-workers from cytotoxic and biological hazards.
  • Spoke at both scientific conferences and community fundraisers about my research and the importance of the Jeans for Genes foundation. Resulting in the ability to communicate and discuss both in scientific terms to other scientist and lay terms to the lay person about a varying range of topics.
  • As a team member of the Telomere Length Regulation Unit, I attended weekly lab meetings where we discussed projects and made contributions and provided problem solving strategies for each person’s projects. Furthermore, we had larger weekly Working in Progress meetings with all 5 telomere-based labs, for the purpose of similar discussion and conversations.
