Over the twelve years’ experience working in Rio Tinto Weipa operations, the company's inclusion & diversity have given me a strong skill set that will be advantageous to the role moving forward. Having 4.5 years’ experience as a mine operator at site, skilled in operating on long trucks, water carts and loaders. In 2012 giving the opportunity obtain a certificate IV in training and assessing taking on the responsibility for in field training and assessments taking into consideration of polies and procedures site wide.

Previously spent 7 years in mine control with the Weipa BIOC team before the business relocated to the OC to Brisbane in 2019. A great rapport was established supervisors and coordinators across site. I relished in seeing the business met customer needs and knowing with teamwork made it happen. Strong interpersonal skills and communication with the key stake holders to achieve targets is a very significant part of a MOC. Time spent with Rio, I have developed a thorough understanding of health and safety procedures, policies and working with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds. I am respectful attitude for the mining community and believe in zero harm and everyone going home safely. I am confident that the skills obtained with Rio will carry over in the business and can-do attitude will be asset.
