I provide trauma-informed counselling to clients from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds experiencing complex trauma, torture, sexual violence, and displacement. I deliver culturally responsive psychological support to assist clients in healing from trauma and rebuilding safety, stability, and wellbeing in Australia.
I conduct psychosocial assessments, develop person-centred treatment plans, and provide ongoing therapeutic interventions focused on emotional regulation, grounding, stabilisation, and resilience building. I support clients navigating complex emotional, psychological, and resettlement-related challenges.
I work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including counsellors, psychologists, caseworkers, physiotherapists, and interpreters, to ensure holistic and coordinated care. I maintain accurate clinical documentation and actively participate in supervision, case reviews, and reflective practice.
I provided social, emotional, and practical support to individuals living with mental health conditions including schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, and depressive disorders. I supported clients to increase independence, build daily living skills, and work toward meaningful personal and recovery-focused goals.
I provided emotional support during periods of distress and crisis, assisted with budgeting, planning, and daily routines, and supported clients to access community resources and services. I used clear, empathetic communication to build strong therapeutic relationships and monitor client wellbeing, escalating concerns appropriately when required.
I maintained accurate case notes, contributed to individualized support and care plans, and worked collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and responsive care. Through this role, I developed a strong understanding of diverse family dynamics, recovery-oriented practice, and the importance of dignity, respect, and empowerment in mental health support.

Working under supervision, I assisted clients with daily living skills, transport, social and recreational activities, medication support, and personal care, as required.
I collaborated with clients to develop individualized support plans that reflected their identified well-being goals, strengths, and support needs. I supported clients to explore both practical and complex challenges, promoting autonomy, confidence, and meaningful participation in their community.
This role strengthened my understanding of person-centered practice, respectful support, and the importance of empowering individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives.
