  • 08/01/2019, 10/31/2020, NSW Health, Liverpool, Student Enrolled nurse, Had various placements at Bankstown and Liverpool hospital.
  • 09/30/2019, 11/01/2019, Pathology, St George Hospital, Kogarah, NSW, Student, Worked alongside pathology collectors who performed venipuncture on outpatients. I was trained in the technique of palpation and anchoring the vein. To use a winged, butterfly needle and straight needle, positioning the needle and assessing and troubleshooting difficult veins and when the blood flow stems. I was able to perform successful blood collections on outpatients. I was able to assist pathology collectors with children, infants. I had the ability to put the patient at ease, communicate the procedure and I gained consent.
  • 2018/2019, 2019/2020, NSW Health, Liverpool and Bankstown Hospitals, Student Enrolled Nurse, Working with a registered nurse in attending to basic and complex wound dressings, removal of sutures, understanding the comorbidities of patients, understanding the escalation process of a deteriorating patient, the completion of online modules of advance life support.
  • 2019/2020, 2019/2020, St George Hospital Pathology Clinic, Kogarah, Student, Venipuncture collection on adult patients, using the butterfly and straight needle with a vacutainer, with the supervision of a senior pathology collector. Ability to troubleshoot for difficult veins and put the patient at ease. The understanding of the various tests required and ensuring the correct tube is collected in the correct order, recording it and sending it for testing.
