Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute is a public scientific research unit under the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to be a research institute with functions of scientific research, technology transfer, training, international cooperation, consulting and service on rice and other crops grown in plant farming systems Mekong Delta region. Main duties and responsibilities: Planning and coordinating the production of horticultural crops, including but not limited to rice (sweet potato, soy bean and sesame), from soil preparation to harvest, taking into account environmental factors. Planning crop production and selecting seeds, seedlings, bulbs and plant stock. Nursery development and quality management of plants and crops including tending, uprooting and pruning. Coordinating and developing strategies for cultivating, fertilising and watering to maintain optimal production, crop health and growing conditions. Monitoring and inspecting crops on a daily basis, fertilising and watering for best crop health and growing conditions. Recording full assessment and status of plant health and condition, pests and diseases. Checking and inspecting crops every day to detect the risk of pests and diseases in a timely. Organising farming operations and routines, such as collecting, storing, grading and packaging produce. Directing and overseeing general farming activities to maintain crop health by managing biosecurity and other risks and controlling pests and weeds. Ensuring safe and optimal function of water supply and irrigation systems check that the irrigation system is even and guaranteed. Protection, as well as labor safety. Planning production accordingly and overseeing data collection and analysis plant breeding. May select, train and supervise staff. Interact with superiors and colleagues to solve work in a timely manner, ensuring work progress.
