• Manage and action complex rental audit cases in a fast‑paced and continually evolving business environment, applying the Income Tax Assessment Act to address compliance risks. This included drafting detailed decisions, adjusting income tax returns, preparing supporting documentation, and delivering tailored taxpayer education to protect the ATO’s future revenue and reputation.
• Provide high‑quality technical feedback as part of an APS 5 cohort, providing written and verbal guidance to case officers on all aspects of their audit work. This includes mentoring individual staff members, building their technical capability, confidence, and consistency in decision‑making.
• Balance a demanding dual workload of managing a high‑volume audit caseload and delivering detailed quality‑check feedback within required timeframes.
• Took the lead on providing formal and informal support to staff within the audit teams on actioning a newly introduced of cases relating to non-lodging taxpayers and preparing default assessment warning letters using my previous experience in the Frontline team.
• Completed the IPAA Indigenous Leaders Program, which assisted in clarifying the leadership approach that I wish to employ in both my current role as a leader and in future roles.
