  • The key responsibility of this role was to oversee the work of union organisers/campaigners;
  • Putting together action plans on key indicators to achieve the Unions Objectives
  • Responsibility for reviewing and signing off on enterprise agreements;
  • Working closely with elected officials at National level (Both at the National Industry Committee and National Council) to set the objectives of the Union;
  • Negotiation and drafting of policies (for use internally and with employers in workplaces);
  • Meeting with employer organisations on issues confronting the manufacturing industry e.g., Classifications, Skilled workers, Build it here - Future of Manufacturing
  • I was also on the National Rules negotiation committee which was to drive one union after many years of divisions - This was used develop strategies to change the culture and drive internal reform
  • As an Elected Union leader I held fiduciary roles within the the AMWU. These roles are responsible for the governance of the union as a member of the National Council, National Admin and budget Committee (NABC), State Council and State Admin Committee.
