Comprehensive assessment and person centred approach to the management of people living with dementia and challenging behaviour.
Worked in all sections of the facility including setting up the new dementia specific lodge.
Registered Nurse on medical and orthopaedic wards.
Training to become a Registered Nurse.
High level of knowledge in dementia and related responsive behaviours
Calm and empathic approach to both clients with dementia and their carers
Ability to provide helpful education to carers and staff
Interest and participation in quality improvement projects
Ability to communicate well with colleagues including nursing, medical and allied health staff to obtain best outcome for clients
Coordination of residential aged care placement and comprehensive follow-up of clients to provide a gentle, streamlined and positive transition
Preparation of person centred Behaviour Care Plans to assist staff and others caring for clients
