It is with great enthusiasm and honour that I am submitting my application for applying the Graduate Teacher Program. I believe that I am the ideal candidate for this position. Having completed my intensive course of study, training, and hands-on experiences in the Early Childhood Teaching Program at Southern Cross University in July 2023, I have acquired the essential skills and knowledge required for this role. My educational background, practical experience, transferable skills, and bilingualism uniquely qualify me for this position.
Furthermore, I possess valuable experience working with children with disabilities, and within my family, I have a physiotherapist involved in the NDIS, which allows me to offer insights and assistance regarding children's physical development and overall physical health.
1. Designing and implementing learning experiences consistent with the principles, practices and outcomes of the EYLF.
2. Using daily transitions as learning opportunities for children.
3. Providing learning environments that are inviting to promote children's competence, confidence, independent exploration and learning.
4. Providing various play-based and place-based learning activities based on the curriculum's themes to help boost the confidence of these 3-5-year-old students and ensure a smooth transition to elementary school, and offering spontaneous learning opportunities based on their current progress and feedback.
5. Observing specific students in accordance with the planned or unplanned activities, and subsequently, using these observations to formulate the following learning activities.
1. Applying children's current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests as the foundation of the program for children's development and learning.
2. Scaffolding and extending the targeted children's learning in both indoor and outdoor learning environments.
3. Selecting and organising a range of engaging resources and materials that inspire children's learning.
4. Assisting in the daily rehabilitation training for children with disabilities, in coordination with the Allied Health professionals.
5. Accepting constructive feedback from the mentor teacher and reflecting critically to improve and refine teaching practice.
6. Practicing effective communication to develop positive relationships with other professionals and families.
