I am a highly motivated and compassionate social work student with a strong commitment to advocating for community development and individual support. Within 2 years of studying at Western Sydney University, I have successfully developed strong interpersonal, problem-solving skills with a solid foundation in social work principles through educating myself and experience in practical field as a part of my course and from volunteering and working with the local community. I am seeking to educating myself more and enhancing professional skills and practice my academic knowledge to provide effective support and advocacy within the workplace.
The LEAD (Learning, Empowerment, Access, and Diversity) Safeguarding Model guided by the principles of NAPCAN (National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) is an approach that supports and encourages inclusion for children with disabilities in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The experiences is functional for me to understanding social work field of practice as an immerging social work students. Even though it is time consuming process as the four team members taking Rugby League as a popular sport in PNG to collaboratively develop an "Inclusive LEAD Together Program" and a proposal, a budget plan to empowering the children with disabilities and their parents.
