First Rotation - Surgical Admissions

• Delivered high quality and compassionate care to surgical patients under wide range of surgical specialities, including Plastics, Urology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Breast, Colorectal, Gynaecology and ENT.
• Prepared patients for surgery by providing education, reassurance, and perioperative instructions, promoting patient understanding and compliance.
• Provided nursing care practices to both adult and paediatric patients such as admissions, discharges, post-operative cares, wound care etc., and escalate any abnormality in accordance with Hospital Policies and Procedures.
• Promoted patient-centred care by advocating for patients' needs and preferences during interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences.

Second Rotation - Rehabilitation and GEM

• Applied comprehensive observation and assessment skills to interpret patient data with accuracy and clinical insight.
• Delivered and monitored therapeutic interventions, ensuring timely adjustments based on patient responses.
• Exercised critical thinking and rapid decision-making to manage evolving clinical situations with confidence.

• Scrub/Scout Rotation: Assisted in sterile surgical procedures, preparing instruments and equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting surgical teams for efficient operations.
• Anaesthetic Rotation: Supported anaesthetic induction and maintenance, monitored patient vitals during surgery, and assisted anaesthetic staff in ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
• PACU Rotation: Delivered post-anaesthetic recovery care, closely monitoring vital signs, recognising and escalating abnormal responses, and facilitating safe transitions from theatre to ward or discharge.
• Collaborated effectively with multidisciplinary teams, applying critical thinking to manage perioperative scenarios.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety, promoting patient-centred care throughout all perioperative stages.
