Zi Jing

I interned at the Documentary Canter of Shanghai Media Groups (SMG) and my internship position is documentary filmmaker .During the internship, I independently completed a series of tasks such as screenwriting, communicating with interviewees, following up and writing documentary publicity drafts. This internship fully allowed me to clarify my ideals as a journalist and media person.

• Scheduled filming days and weekends, from pre-production meetings to final edits.
• Chose locations and settings for individual scenes, angles of cameras and gestures used by actors
• Set budgets, travel itineraries and timelines and maintained call sheets.
• Successfully conveyed story through compelling long- and short-form videos.
• Oversaw post-production editing, special effects, music selection and performance's overall tone.
• Independently conceptualized timelines, storyboards and themes of video projects.
• Effectively operated camera, audio and production equipment during staffing shortages.
• Interpreted scripts to understand overall story and narrative style.
