Port Trainer / Relief Team Leader

  • At Jetstar, I am employed as a Customer Service Officer and Relief Team Leader. My growing role with the company given me a large insight into the aviation industry.
  • In my position, I have learned both Jetstar front-of-house check-in procedures, including international and domestic sectors, kiosk check-in and automated bag drop functions, and processed payments for oversized baggage and cabin baggage while educating passengers on Jetstar's policies.
  • In addition, completed training on concourse, including domestic and international gate departures, marshalling, aerobridge operations and powered aisle wheelchairs operation.
  • The role requires high communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills, which I display daily throughout my work day to ensure I can assist the large volume of customers with a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Since my return to the company I have been up-skilled into a Relief Team Leader role. My role requires overseeing the check in or concourse operation and assisting with tasks as required, delegating tasks to team members, addressing customer issues and ensuring customer satisfaction is provided, promoting and acting by the Jetstar values, driving on time performance while maintaining safety and ensuring compliance with the operational and dangerous goods manuals.

  • A day in my position included answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate staff members or handling general enquiries and quotes, management of incoming and outgoing mail, scheduling client appointments, responding to relevant email queries, opening and closing files, processing invoices and making trust payments, depositing cheques to trust, undertaking verification of the identity of clients and entering and removing documents from the safe custody register.
  • In my role, I further developed my customer service skills as I interact daily with customers by phone, email, and in person at the office
  • This role has provided me with a considerable insight into property and estate management law.
  • With the growing nature of the firm, the last three months in my position involved extensive training as I progressed from receptionist duties to paralegal duties. My original position was filled and required me to train and guide the new receptionist through their daily responsibilities.
