Diagnostic Radiographer with 18 years experience including General Radiography, Dental, CT, Theatre, Emergency, Mobile X-rays, Private Practice and Public Hospitals. My passion is to provide quality imaging with excellent patient care, being a valued part of the workplace team and upholding it's values, whilst continually learning and evolving my skillset.
I have 18 years experience in Mammography in both Private Practice and Breastscreen, both in London working on the mobile vans and static sites and for the last 13 years working at Breastscreen VIC -both in screening clinics and assessment site.
I am a knowledgeable Mammographer adept at completing scans with speed and accuracy to handle heavy daily workloads in fast-paced environments. I am a cheerful and detail-oriented professional bringing 18 years of experience in the field. Focused on providing patients with high-quality and empathetic care while upholding the RMH values and notably, the Breastscreen motto of 'Caring about Women'. This is my passion.
I spent a month Volunteering in the CT department in Chitwan, Nepal whilst on a 6 month volunteering holiday through Nepal and India. This was an incredible experience seeing the difference in the quality of health care in a 3rd world country and the amount of gross and late stage cancers seen daily was astounding.
I worked. for 3 months as a Locum Radiographer in a wonderful community of health workers, it was like a country hospital in the middle of London. The Royal Brompton is a heart and lung specialist Hospital and my role was to provide the mobile chest x-rays as needed in all departments of the hospital from multiple wards, ICU, recovery, rehab, neonatal and post discharge follow up chest xrays. This was one of my most fulfilling jobs as it was such an efficient, hard working team that worked seamlessly together for the good of their patients across all parts of the hospital. Even though I was there a short time, I was well known across all departments and made to be felt welcome and part of the team.
Worked Full time as a Locum on the mobile units in Central and East London- screening across multiple sites (6 on average) using film, CR and digital, average 30 clients per day plus reception duties.
Worked at the static Assessment site regularly providing follow up imaging views such as mags, spot and lateral views.
I enjoyed working at Hornsby Hospital as it felt like a country hospital in Northern Sydney with friendly staff that trained me in hospital skills after working my PDY in a busy private practice. Skills aquired here were general radiography including orthopaedic clinics, theatre, mobile, emergency and after hours/shift work. New problem solving skills were needed to adjust to more trauma and emergency based imaging.
This is where I achieved my PDY year after University. I was part of a multi disciplinary team working in general radiography including mammography, fluoroscopy, barium procedures like meals, swallows, enemas, HSG (reproductive), IVP (kidney and renal) orthopaedic specialist views, joint injections, chiropractic, pre and post surgery imaging, dental and CT.
It was a fast paced environment and I learnt to perform high quality radiographs in a timely manner whilst working in a large team and with multiple Radiologists and across about 6 sites.
