Arun Singh Mann

I'm currently working as a media adviser to the current longest-serving Federal Politician - Hon Bob Katter, Member for Kennedy. My role involves significant amounts of travel throughout the North Queensland-based electorate, as well as around the country and includes high volumes of interfacing with a wide spectrum of the public with differing and varied concerns, issues and opportunities. In my role, I assess these concerns, issues and opportunities to help the parliamentarian make media representation on them, or written submissions, policy drafting and recommendations or negotiations with government departments and ministers.

Further, my role of course includes monitoring media publications and advising the parliamentarian to respond accordingly.

• Since 2019 I have been volunteering with the Sikhs in FNQ Project - this is a history capturing project which aims to document the stories of people of the Sikh faith who migrated to FNQ. It involves producing multimedia content, interviewing residents, community engagement and government engagment to advance public displays of this history.
• Between 2017 and 2018 I was a co-founder of the North Queensland Sikh Youth society - this was a group of university students who set out to research our Sikh faith and then attended multiple community events and festivals to teach the public of our findings.
• Between 2017 and 2018 I spent two summer holidays doing volunteer journalism work at my local newspaper - Innisfail Advocate.
• An active member of multiple local sports teams including cricket and soccer, as well as other social sport.
