As a nightfill Assistant Department Manager I was responsible for running the nightfill department two nights per week, on these nights I had to make sure that I had rostered the appropriate amount of people on for the night to match with the size of the work load. I was also responsible for organising and leading my team during these shifts making sure everyone was efficiently and correctly achieving the key performance indicators set in place by the company. I was also apart of the safety team as well as being first aid trained. This position has given me the skills to effectively and confidently run a department of around ten staff members as well as management skills such as rostering and communicating with my staff members.
As a line worker I was responsible for making food quickly efficiently as well as being sure to meet a high standard with anything I made. As I was also a closer in this role I was responsible for cleaning the entire store at the end of the night and had to make sure that everything was ready for the openers the next morning. I also had to make sure to provide clear communication between what was happening in the kitchen with the front counter staff making sure we were all on the same page and able to serve customers to the best of our ability.
