While working as a Front End Developer, I continued my same responsibilities as Service Manager


  • Developed and maintained front-end features for a permit and inductions managing website using TypeScript and React, and the mobile app using React-native, Typescript and Expo.
  • Collaborated with back-end developers to integrate and implement form components for capturing work permit data.
  • Transitioned legacy React code to modern, reusable functional components with TypeScript.
  • Utilized Redux for state management across both web and mobile apps, initially using ‘classic Redux’ with action creators and reducers, and incrementally updating to use Redux Toolkit where possible.
  • Worked with numerous AWS services, including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and SES, to enhance application functionality and performance.
  • Engaged in the full development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment, ensuring customer needs were met with high-quality solutions.
  • Contributed to improvement of code quality and maintainability through regular code reviews and adherence to best practices.
  • Developed and implementing unit tests for front-end components to ensure reliability and robustness of the application.
  • Utilized Git for version control, collaborating closely with the team and tracking progress using Jira.
  • Contributed to the development of a React Native mobile app, leveraging Expo and Redux to provide features such as QR code-based contractor sign-in and access to site specific information such as downloadable files and profile induction status.
  • Designed and implemented a commissioning isolation management feature for the React Native app, enabling users to fetch, select, and update the status of permits with offline data caching and syncing capabilities.
