I am thrilled to be a part of the Graduate Nurse Program as an upcoming graduate of the University of New England student who is committed and dedicated. My dream job would be at a health facility in NSW, where I could use my clinical expertise to provide excellent, patient-centered care. Throughout my clinical rotations at various NSW health facilities, I have developed a strong commitment to evidence-based practice. This has enabled me to deliver high-quality care and achieve better patient outcomes. My customer service experience has sharpened my communication skills, allowing me to connect respectfully and inclusively with culturally diverse patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams. I believe in holistic healthcare and provide thorough and personalized treatment to each patient. As an enthusiastic learner, I am looking forward to expanding my clinical skills and knowledge, ensuring that the care I provide is always backed by the latest evidence-based research and in line with national standards. I am adaptable, quick to learn, and eager to contribute my expertise while upholding the values of NSW Health. Joining the Graduate Nurse Program is a great chance for me to learn new things, improve my skills, and work towards better care in an engaging and helpful setting. John Hunter Hospital, Orthopaedic Ward, 160 hours (06/05/24 - 02/06/24)

Performed and documented care plans, nursing assessments, and progress notes, utilizing the ISBAR handover format. 

Performed aseptic technique to perform orthopaedic wound care including vacuum dressing, wound packing and monitored dressing integrity and reported any changes to the healthcare team.

Monitoring patients using PCA and ensured integrity and infection control in PIC line dressings. 

Established and sustained professional relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their families.

Safely assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated evidence-based holistic patient-centered nursing care.

Lismore Base Hospital, Medical Unit, 80 hours (03/10/23 - 15/10/23)

Ability to write effective progress notes and give clinical handovers, assisted registered nurses in the assessment of patients using timely systematic methods. 

Maintained quality care systems and standards while following workplace regulations and procedures to ensure excellent treatment. Administered IV therapy with precision and ensured the safe dispensation and administration of medications. 

Successfully established rapport with patients and their families through therapeutic communication and coordinating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team members.

Balmain Hospital, Transition Care Unit, 80 hours (04/09/23 - 17/09/23)

Conducted patient assessments to determine individual needs and capacities, focusing on mobility and daily functioning.

Thorough patient assessment by utilizing both the pressure injury and fall risk assessments.

Demonstrated skill in wound management, utilizing sterile techniques to prevent infection and promote healing., 

Safely manage PEG feeding systems, including preparing and administering meals through the tube and maintenance PEG sites to prevent infections and ensure patient comfort.

Mid-North Coast Justice Health Center, Aldavilla, 80 hours (05/06/23 - 18/06/23)

Summit Care Baulkham Hills, Aged-Care, 160 hours (16/01/23 - 12/02/23)

Gained foundational skills and exposure to acute and chronic disease by performing nursing assessments, attending to personal hygiene, and managing activities of daily living.

Assisted in gathering patient data for assessments and treatment plans, and actively participated in the handover process.

Built rapport with elderly patients, engaging in meaningful conversations to understand their needs and preferences.
