Working for the agency Signature Staff has allowed me to gain experience in large banquets at local hotels, such as Pullmans, as well as banquets and functions at the Cairns Convention Centre, sometimes seating around 800 people. Due to the nature of agency work, I can easily adapt to unknown environments, and have gained sociable skills that allow me to efficiently work with other unfamiliar staff, within a quickly paced workspace, that requires high standards.
Functions were straight forward. I worked as part of a team and we would ensure efficiency when setting up, serving, clearing and packing up. I made sure dishes were served in a fast but fun and efficient way, and and helped newly employed coworkers by guiding them throughout the night.
At Eling Forest, I played a part in many areas. If there were cakes that had to be made, I would bake cakes, or maybe scones, they were the easiest. If food had to be served, I would serve it. If a customer was waiting at the till, I would take their order. Some days I would spend all day on the coffee machine, others I would be scrubbing windows, and washing dishes.
I am a diligent worker who will put all my effort into the task at hand.
My name is Izzy Gabelle, I am 18 years old. I have experience in customer service, waitressing, barista work, all-rounder café work, fine dining, and functions between 20-800 people. I am a calm individual with the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. I understand the ins and outs of the hospitality industry, and I'm always eager to learn more.
As I am currently working at Strait On The Beach, I am looking for work after 4:00pm Monday-Thursday and Sundays, and after 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
