  • Led a team of delegates, organisers & members during multifaceted campaigns at DFAT, Environment, Industry
  • National campaigns that engaged numerous stakeholders such as: APS Staffing Cap, Paid Parental leave – leading to significant changes in the Maternity Leave Act
  • Recruited, engaged, grew collectivism in the workplace through worksite visits, member and non-member meetings, speech by speech, signature by signature and workplace consultative forum organising. Usual KPI was making 20 organising calls a day.
  • The position required a unique set of skills to build rapport quickly - recruiting protential leaders to the next step as a delegates and our registered training.
  • Transperant & honest in what was achievable even through difficult conversations and personal emotion of those being represented.
  • Developed legal memoranda and dynamic communications, including drip feed marketing, text messaging, robo-calls, telethons, pamphlets, posters, flyers, videos, podcasts - an email to a thousand people per day, hundreds of calls per week - scaling with the assistance of volunteers.

Achievements: air quality improvements at overseas stations such as Nairobi when organising DFAT.

  • First NO vote on an EBA under a hostile government bargaining position and the Clean Energy Regulator.
  • Secured and negotiated first nations indigenous issues at Wreck Bay in Jervis Bay.
  • Won a dispute with DPS regarding health and safety union entry, numerous stakeholders; government lawyers, SES, Secretaries & Comcare regulators.
  • Led DPS Security Guards through the Higgins case.
  • Won meal and travel allowance for members stuck in Tasmania due to COVID.
  • Won re-location and parking payment for hundreds of graduate employees during secondment in COVID.
  • Topped the recruitment statistics and KPI's minimum average 5 new members a week (250 per year, $1000 per annum for the union).
  • Significant underpayments win at DoEE regarding administrative oversight regarding TOIL (tens of thousands of dollars each worker).
  • Demonstrated exceptional time management skills while working on multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality or deadlines.
