Jessamy Bezic

I'm currently employed with Mindsprout offering support to 2 younger clients with various support needs. Both children have ASD 2, and ADHD. My role has involved providing community access, general companionship, and attending various appointments. Through this role I have:

• Learnt how to build meaningful relationships with clients and parents.
• Become efficient in communicating with healthcare professionals.
• Implemented care plans.
• Organized community-based activities to promote integration and socialization.
• Used reinforcement techniques to improve behaviours and reduce safety concerns.

During this period I provided care to 9 young adults with complex needs in three SIL homes in the Sutherland Shire. Through this role I:

• Integrated positive behavioural support techniques outlined in clients individualised plans.
• Administered and managed medications.
• Prepared nutritious meals to meet individual dietary needs for clients.
• Transported and accompanied clients to engage in community activities and appointments.
• Kept detailed daily logs with care actions, patient behaviours, and incidents.

For the past three years, I had been supporting an individual with a spinal chord injury. During this role I:

• Assisted with personal care, such as showering, dressing, catheter and colostomy/bowel care.
• Completed domestic duties.
• Became proficient in using a hoist.
• Administered medications.

During this time, I provided support to a 10-year-old client with ASD 2, cerebral palsy, and various behavioural concerns. My role involved:

• Providing homeschooling, community access and completing domestic duties.
• Managing challenging behaviours, such as aggressive actions and emotional outbursts.
