I currently support donors through the donation process, while working towards achieving collection targets. I interview donors to assess their eligibility to donate, check blood pressure and haemoglobin levels.

Daily set up of machines, needle insertion and removal at completion of donation.

Ensure paperwork is filled in correctly, allowing for a smooth check and pack at the end of each session.

I provide clinical oversight of other team members, and guide them through the collection process.

Education to donors relating to their donation and any adverse events that may have occurred during their donation.

Monitoring of donors post donation to ensure no adverse effects, or if so they are kept safe and informed.

I guide and educate staff, ensure smooth running of the donation floor, machines are made up and ready for the next donor, sufficient stock available to staff therefore reducing time in centre for our donors.

I am currently a SME (subject matter expert) at Coffs Harbour. Staff will approach me for clarification on all topics or issues, which can be varied from interviews, donation process, machine issues, check and pack or just clarification with SOPs.

I also will educate staff on techniques if SOPs are not being followed.

As a senior Registered Nurse of a 22 bed paediatric ward, including a 4 bed child assessment unit, I would ensure safe staff/patient ratios, staff skill was matched with appropriate patient. Educate and teach new staff and students. Smooth running of the ward. Education to patients and their families, giving adequate time for questions to ensure they understood procedures, future cares etc.

I occasionally attend to rostering or at short notice sort sick leave, once again to ensure staff and patient safety was upheld.

I would deesulate stressful and heated situations without creating further issues as these were stressful times for families.
