Attended all Professional Development opportunities provided by Catholic Education Office and Burdekin Christian College.
For the last six years, I have been interested in researching the topic of Blended/Hybrid learning models to increase student engagement and achievement. I have organised professional development strategies for over six years to understand these models.
· Accessing papers on the topic
· Investigated Learning digital platforms
· Completed required certification for EDUCATION PERFECT to the highest level - achieving Level 5 held by the top 0.1% of teachers. Implemented and provided in-service for teachers at BCHS and BCC. I also collected data to validate successful outcomes and continued to refine a pedagogy that reflected a Blended learning approach.
· This year, I introduced STILE and STILE X. I have collected rich data to validate the success of my applied pedagogy and shared it with the team at STILE. I have been involved in advisory Zoom conferences and have been asked to share my experience with other schools.
At the moment, I am organising a trial ATOMI – they have designed
- a six-week study schedule for the entirety of the Queensland subjects leading up to the external exam
- links to corresponding videos and quizzes to ensure students are engaging with the content.
- Customisable template for personalised plans
- Topic checklists
I am hoping that this trial improves student engagement and learning outcomes for students as they prepare for their external assessments.
