To whom it may concern, My working background was a Rigger, (Advanced) more recently as a Technical Project Specialist, then Project Officer, with temp positions as Project Manager within Telstra Corp. I’m honest, reliable and would be an asset to your company, working in any capacity. I am extremely handy with any type of tool, electric, air or manually powered. I do enjoy working with my hands, unfortunately promotions didn’t work that way. In 2014 I took a Voluntary Redundancy from Telstra (Victoria), after 26 years with the company. I’m looking for full time employment, supplying references, police clearance, or any other pertinent documentation required. As a mature age applicant, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience within many employment environments. Initially I commenced my working life as an apprentice printer, then moved on to working with Rio Tinto in Western Australia as an assistant to metallurgists, based in Dampier, but travelling throughout the Pilbara region. I have a variety of tickets, Victorian Heavy Rigid Licence, with many years’ experience operating a Boogie drive Isuzu, with a road ranger gearbox, and Hi-ab crane on the rear. I’ve a variety of mine experience, working in open cut mines in the Northwest of Australia, Dampier, Mount Tom price, Paraburdoo, Port Headland and in South Australia, Mount Gunsun, and an underground mine in the Adelaide Hills. During the early and mid-90’s I was working as a supervisor in Bass strait on the Esso oil/gas platforms for Telstra, installing an upgraded communications system. Which I found an interesting and rewarding experience. During employment, particularly with Telstra, training courses undertaken were invaluable giving me “Valuable aspects of ensuring a safe work environment prevails at all sites, for all staff and personnel”. I have been trained to work safely, completing many ‘work safety courses’ over the years. Then working as a “Telstra Height Rescue Trainer” for two years for Vic/Tas region (until Telstra training was outsourced), I found extremely enjoyable, gaining experience instructing personnel in safe work methods. Primary focus was to rescue an injured person from a structure utilising ropes/slings and all the required climbing apparatus that is held within the Telstra ‘Tower Rescue Kit’ I ’m very interested in the role being available within your company, where I believe I would be an asset to your company.
