• Plan, direct & oversee all bar operations including managing bar staff, ensuring product and service standards are met

• Assess the development needs, train, and coach bar staff

• Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives

• Set and monitor quality and service standards for staff

• Organise and adjust staff rosters

• Resolve customer complaints promptly

• Monitor cleanliness and hygiene of bar area

• Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations

• Oversee accurate cash-up procedures and ensure necessary paperwork is complete

• Monitor and order bar supplies including alcohol, soft drink, snacks, cleaning products

• Liaise with suppliers and sales representatives

• Confirm that procurement of supplies is on the best possible terms

• Ensure all deliveries are checked in correctly and documented

• Check stock is correctly rotated and stored to reduce wastage

• Carry out a monthly stock take

• Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality and attractiveness

• Plan and implement cost control measures

• Organise promotional activities along with Board Members or Manager

• Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions

• Check equipment and facilities for maintenance, replacement and upgrading

• Stay current with relevant legislation regarding service of alcohol & licensing
