For a short time i worked as a Barman, this roll entails communicating with customers and providing them with the best level of service as possible. As a barman you are responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic work station.
This year I undertook a graduate nurse position within MDHS, where I gained hands-on experience in delivering patient-centred care, performing clinical assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. I developed strong skills in monitoring patient progress, maintaining accurate documentation. I have also had the opportunity to mentor student nurses as they pass through the facility, sharing parts of my knowledge and experience to help them build their skills and confidence as well as guide them through practical tasks, offer advice on patient care, and support them in understanding clinical procedures. This role has been instrumental in guiding me as I continue to grow my clinical knowledge as well as my professional growth as a nurse.
For the past few years, I have been a shearer. As a shearer, you work within a team production line to get the sheep shorn and the wool on the table. While shearing, you strive to work as efficiently as possible, doing as many sheep as you can within the 2-hour shift, all while making sure you don’t hurt the animal. As a shearer, you take responsibility for keeping your work equipment clean and ensuring the health and wellbeing of the animals.
