- Skills and Responsibilities: HSE Representative, Mechanical Technician and 2IC in the Master Rebuild Center. Since beginning my career at Cummins I have been involved in the dismantling and remanufacture of heavy diesel engines for the mining industry and as you will see below have worked very hard to progress my career goal towards a leadership role.
- Phase 1 – Strip – 1.5years, dissemble HHP engines and provide condition reports when requested, document condition of all components and process core return.
- Phase 2A – Engine Assembly, 3 years, assembling HHP engine bottom end and gear train, including conducting crucial measurements and data capture in CMES, use of specialty tooling to complete process.
- Phase 2B – Engine assembly, 3 Years, using CMES and view ease to build HHP engines to a high standard, including crucial process’ like oil pump installation and valve sets and much more required to finish the build of our engines.
- Phase 3 – Dyno and pack, Prep and test HHP engines on the engine dynamometer, using Dynpro 2 controls, assess engine for correct operation and manage defects, prep engines for paint and pack ready for customer collection, confirming that the engine has all correct components using the HHP matrix and ERFs and is completed to a high-quality standard.
- Phase 2B 2IC - 3 Years, First and foremost ensuring the safety of the team and everyone in the business , completing required clerical work including experience with Movex, manage the fast paced production flow of phases 2 and 3 when required, attend HSE meetings and production meetings, assist when required daily with frontline leadership and guidance for direct phase workers and liaise when required with other phase leaders within the MRC to keep the production target. Also involved in projects with other phase leaders to continually keep the MRC growing towards the future
