Core Midwifery Skills

  • Woman-centred care - working with COMCEs and on clinical placement, this skill has been demonstrated throughout my practice. Receiving mentoring and feedback from midwives, MUMs and facilitators reinforce this. Working with parents and their families and their feedback has also provided the outcomes given through my care.
  • Time management - this is a skill I have proven by managing effectively, delegating tasks, manage duties are cares within the healthcare environment effectively, shown throughout studying as a non-school leaver
  • Leadership, teamwork and collaboration - willing to take initiative proactively whilist on placement, this skill I have acquired demonstrates my abilities through working with O&G, social workers, midwives. I have experience leading within a team framwowrk whilist working in a retail store.
  • Verbal and written communication - proven confidence in talking to woman and their families about their care, this skill is validated through my academic achievements and customer service role in retail work.
