Upon finishing the Certificate III in Individual Support at Victoria University and placement at St John of God Accord, Sydenham; an opportunity of employment was offered at Gateways Support Services.
Currently, I am still employed by gateways on a casual basis. The role has been one of the most enriching and fulfilling positions, both professionally and on a personal level.
It has allowed an amazing opportunity to meet an array of participants who all have their own flair for life and dreams/goals which one eagerly wishes to help achieve. Being able to support them on an individual level and on group activities has given greater understanding and experience of individual and group support needs.
The desire to help enrich the lives of participants is one of the driving forces in this role.
