- In this role, I assist residents/clients to achieve their Daily living activities
- Providing them personal care such as shower, dressing, feeding, changing their incontinence pads and medication
- Taking them out for appointments, social events or to place of worship
- Communicating with them to increase their independence, providing them emotional support whenever needed
- Following the key areas of person-centred care: giving them freedom to make their decisions, encouraging them to do exercise to maintain better health, communicating in the way that is easier for them to understand
- Maintaining their dignity and respect, assisting them with mobility
- Documentation of behaviour change, meal plan, fluid chart
- Filling out incident form if witnessed any, according to the company policy

- I was allocated in Canterbury for my Placement for two weeks. In this placement I look after 15 acute pain patients taking their vital signs and BGL, adding them in eMR. I learnt how the procedure works in healthcare settings when the patients conditions are deteriorating including the clinical review and rapid response. I learnt the stages and phases of oral medication and how important it is to check the six rights and three checks before giving medications. I learnt the importance of privacy and code of conduct for nurses.

- Running the kitchen from September 2022 to February 2023 on behalf of the Chef Manager, as he was on holiday, the position was available to me if the Kitchen manager doesn’t come back
- Juliana village is a lovely place with more than 80 residents, plus 15 self-occupied (Independent living) with two dining rooms in two levels separated by low care and high care
- I was in charge of 15 catering staffs, implementing `things as per the residents needs and we received A grade in food audit
- Upset, the chef manager came back, and I had to step down, but got a very good opportunity to boost my knowledge more towards the management systems which is an asset for me
