I have represented my country, Bhutan, in the South Asian Taekwondo Championship in South Korea in the year 2002.
Not only did I represented my country, but also made it proud on the Global stage. Because I was the only one who bagged up Gold and secured the 1st position for my country back then, for which I was all over the Bhutan Broadcasting Service/BBS (National News) and I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to receive a recognition from the former King of Bhutan, The Great Fourth.
Later, as I graduated from high school and was preparing for college, I took part in an election for the 1st ever Student Government Body in Royal Thimphu College (RTC), and surprisingly, I was elected as the Business President with the majority of votes for me.
In terms of my career achievements, I have accomplished many different tasks that were assigned to me in a timely manner with my utmost dedication and hard work, for which my employers have presented me with a Certificate of Excellence, Certificate of Merits and Best Support Worker of the fiscal year 2024.
I was a Tour Operator and a Cultural Tour Guide, managing my own Tourism business before the Covid-19 pandemic, which is why I can speak and communicate well in several languages besides my own mother tongue, Dzongkha. Such as English, Hindi, Nepali, and some basic Japanese and Thai languages.
As a result of being a tour operator, I have travelled across many countries in search of counterparts and business associates, therefore enhancing my skills in sales, marketing, communication and public relations(PR). I am also very good at making public relationship and delivering commentary because I have accrued an immense amount of confidence as a result of being a Cultural Tour Guide, as one of my key responsibilities as a tourist guide was to explain things and act as a commentator.
I was the first ever taekwondo player who represented my country, Bhutan in an international arena and bagged a gold medal for my country. I was a red and black belt back then, with a record of zero losses in the inter-state championship and two losses in the National level Championship.
Although I am now 37 years old, my passion for martial arts, music and singing is gradually diminishing because of my family commitments, work and other factors affecting my hobbies, but it still fascinates me when I get some time for myself to practise and train as much as i was young.
