  • Situation - 2021: Volatile Domestic Violence immolation incident resulting in Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) declaration. Action: Instigate a priority response. Proficiently set up a strategically placed cordon by directing resources and implementing Incident Action Plan (IAP) objectives to isolate and contain the address of interest. Briefed attending supervisor and QAS Commander. Conduct continual risk assessments and relaying Situation Reports (SITREPs) to subordinate officers, Police Communications Centre (PCC) and on scene supervisors.
    Result: Used effectual co-ordination, planning, communication to, without escalation, apprehend the offender without any impact to the surrounding community. PSPA rescinded once Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) removed explosive vapours from inside the address.
