  • My main responsibilities were Answering of 000 and non-emergency calls to NSW Ambulance using internal systems to communicate jobs to other Emergency Service agencies.
  • The main part of my role was dealing with 000 calls state-wide. I would locate the emergency, triage the call and then provide any relevant information to the caller/patient prior to Paramedics arrival on scene, all whilst providing a calm and reassuring voice to the caller.
  • I would also guide callers through pre arrival instructions, including CPR, childbirth including delivery and EpiPen administration, all while encouraging and reassuring the caller whilst waiting for paramedics to arrive on scene
  • I also trained to become a Community First Responder, gaining a Certificate II in Medical Service First Response. I was part of a team that provided emergency medical support to the community for Priority 1 calls, whilst awaiting Paramedics to arrive on scene.
  • Assessed emergency requests and made quick judgment calls to determine appropriate action.
  • Recorded and tracked emergency requests utilizing computer-aided dispatch systems.

Volunteering

Since 2019, I have dedicated a large amount of my personal time to Volunteering with Emergency Services including NSW SES, NSW RFS, NSW VRA and Ambulance Service of NSW, gaining me a large understanding of the Emergency Service industry within New South Wales, whilst gaining a range of experiences and skills.

I enjoy being able to give something back to the community, be part of a team of link-minded people, and gain new skills.
