• The role involves working with individuals, couples and families providing therapeutic counselling on a range of presentations.
• The role includes working with complex cases including relationship issues, communication difficulties, parenting matters including pre and post separation, grief and loss and employment issues.
• complete administrative tasks including maintaining clinical records, writing relevant reports, data entry and other associated tasks.

Tasks:

• An initial assessment and develop a case formulation for ongoing work.
• Provide appropriate evidence informed interventions for clients seeking counselling as per contract requirements.
• Adopt a person-centred framework in your daily work.
• Maintain and manage confidentiality while also advising clients of the limits of confidentiality.
  Services are provided face to face as well as via telehealth.

The role involves providing high quality therapeutic services to students and their families.

• The duties include other associated tasks. Evidence-informed counselling, group work with students, consultation to school staff in relation to students and professional development for school staff.
• Provide a professional and confidential service which adheres to relevant Professional Codes of Ethics and Conduct.
• Complete administrative tasks including maintaining case notes, data entry.

• Work with older people who have been referred through My Aged Care to the program for Allied Health Services.
• Work within person centred care, wellness and reablement or restorative framework under CHSP guidelines. Additionally, implement psycho-social interventions to the clients living with various mental health conditions.
• Active Communication with clients to Identify Issues, goals utilising CBT approach and assist clients to navigate to My Aged Care services.
• Effective Management of multiple supports from a range of provider which intersect with mainstream or other supports, including liaising with staff from other agencies, making appropriate referrals and resolving service delivery issues.
• Conduct assessments and record results against set goals.
• Provide individualized support and interventions, including social work counselling and advocacy.

• PCCS is based on direct social work practice settings. Therefore, as a student placement, I had an opportunity to be involved in a 12-week program, GP Social work Connect program (GPSW) with all age group and help navigate clients to the needed service.
• The 12-week program reflected the CBT approach, Psychotherapy, Narrative therapy, Behavioural therapy, evidence-based intervention starting from the initial phase to discharge phase of a client. As a result of this experience, I could build my foundations on risk assessment, home visits, writing initial notes and case notes, connecting to service providers, navigating it to client and letting them know about the discharge procedures.
• At the same time, PCCS has given me the experience to work with elderly people to help them connect with "my aged care" and provide them support through liaison with support workers, mental health practitioners, occupational therapist in an interim period within the reach of PCCS.
• My experience was not limited to GPSWC as I had opportunity to touch base with NDIS work done by senior Social Workers at the end phase of my placement. This is where I was able to co-facilitate a group of clients with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychosocial disability through different activities. This specific involvement gave me a picture of early intervention strategies and how it helped the clients for enhancing their skills and their independence.

• Kingston House was established to provide culturally specific and complex needs for Young People (YP) from CALD background. As this was my first placement, my responsibilities in this Out of Home Care Service were to learn about Intensive Therapeutic care, its implementation, and policies in this kind of residential care.
• The overall experience of Kingston House built foundation to deal with challenging youth especially those impacted with mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence.
• Furthermore, the environment of organisation was such where I could link my theoretical learnings of trauma informed practice and the AASW ethical standards. Though it was difficult to deal with challenging youth at the very first placement, it has certainly enhanced my communication, inter-personal and rapport building skills
• On the top of all, it helped me to reflect upon the importance of confidential work, health, and safety issues.

• Developed customer service skills like handling enquires, messages, corresponding with emails, post & couriers, scheduling appointments, cash handling, ordering stationeries and grocery online, handling appeal mails, data entries and complaints.
• Enhanced organising skill who can work with minimal direction or in a team environment. Developed time management, analytical and problem-solving skills, and an understanding of working with children and families living with cancer.
• Assisted different departments and 12 branches of Camp Quality. Technically learnt to use Raisers Edge Software.
