My name is Wytasie Walker I am a young Aboriginal woman, an emerging digital artist making waves in the field of interpretative signage. Hailing from the Yorta Yorta community, I bring a rich cultural background and a passion for preserving and sharing my heritage through innovative artistic mediums.
Growing up immersed in Yorta Yorta cultural traditions, I recognise the power of storytelling in maintaining cultural identity. This realization sparked my journey into digital artistry, where I explored various mediums, including illustration and graphic design. Determined to merge technology with tradition, I become a rising talent in creating interpretative signage that communicates the historical and cultural narratives of Yorta Yorta lands.
Currently pursuing my artistic endeavors, I am known for seamlessly blending my contemporary digital skills with traditional Yorta Yorta storytelling techniques. Through my interpretative signage projects, I aim to bridge generational gaps, fostering a greater understanding of Yorta Yorta heritage among both the community and wider audiences.
As an emerging digital artist, not only am I creating visually stunning and culturally rich signage but I am also contributing to the revitalization and appreciation of Yorta Yorta culture. With my unique perspective and dedication to cultural preservation, I stand at the forefront of a new wave of artists using digital platforms to convey the stories and significance embedded in Indigenous landscapes.
