As Maternity Ward AO, it is my aim to provide efficient and prompt administration assistance to the Maternity Ward, Birth Suite, Neonatal Unit, ANDAS, EPAU and HMS. My priorities are providing exceptional customer service while addressing inquiries professionally and in a timely manner, deliver quality results under pressure by prioritising tasks effectively during high-stress situations or tight deadlines and working to Metro North Core Values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, High Performance and Team Work.

Tasks consist of, but not limited to:

  • Recording current patient details and ensuring Patient Election Forms are filled out and managed appropriately.
  • Entering patient admissions, birth registration, transferring and discharging of patients, and tracking of patient's charts using HBCIS.
  • Entering complete functions associated with patient bookings such as referrals, appointments and managing cancellations and rescheduling.
  • Printing of bed lists and various reports for the NUM, nursing & midwifery team, and other staff as required using Patient Flow and HBCIS.
  • Filing, splitting, and updating patient charts according to the Metro North Clinical Forms guide.
  • Booking of QAS transfers for patients and ensuring paperwork is confidentially ready for transfer.
  • Booking of interpreters as required.
  • Distribute and action Discharge Summaries.
  • Enter, reschedule, cancel and check in and check out patient appointments on ieMR.
  • Contribute to daily operations by anticipating and completing administrative requirements to support patients, Doctors, midwives, nurses and other hospital staff.

Relief AO
