Starting as a waiter, I have progressed to helping prepare the sushi and managing the front counter myself. I have gained strong customer service skills, POS software skills, and the ability to work and liaise with a broad range of staff and customers. I have also managed several situations with difficult customers, remaining polite and pleasant at all times. Many customers are now regulars and I enjoy the interaction with them.
I have come to understand how business is structured and the strategy that underpins it. I complete my duties on time and to a high standard. I have developed a strong work ethic through Tenka Sushi and enjoy the collaborative working relationships with co-workers.
My role involved coaching students from Year 4-6 and I enjoyed the opportunity to learn effective coaching techniques and methods from the Horizon Tennis Director. This role helped to improve my interpersonal skills and time management, due to many last-minute requests to step in to help coach.
