I am a counsellor/case manager/consultant with over 10 years’ experience in the mental health and wellness sector. I have experience working with children, young people and families and carers. As a counsellor, I have worked with victims experiencing domestic violence, narcissistic abuse and assisted clients with clinical diagnoses of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety and neurodivergence. I am confident to develop interventions tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. My success is underpinned by a strong knowledge base of effective counselling techniques. With strong understanding of human thinking and behavior, I have a high level of empathy and passion for this demanding but rewarding field of work. This is critical to be able to assist at-risk individuals, such as the homeless, persons from economic disadvantage, persons from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, persons living with mental illness and domestic violence victims. My academic qualifications and practical work experience have equipped me with sound knowledge of counselling therapies and interventions related to children, youth, families, and carers to provide counselling support and education on anxiety, depression, PTSD, addictions, and the unique needs of neurodivergent clients. I hold a Bachelor of Counselling (2021). My qualifications also include a Diploma of Children’s Services (2006), a Diploma of Professional Counselling (2010), with a major in child development and effective parenting, and a Diploma of Applied Social Science (2013).
