  • Working hands-on with journalists to help gather appropriate footage from the SBS database for the daily bulletin, current affairs programs, feed, and more.
  • Editing and archiving incoming video feeds from both national and international camera sources and applying tagging metadata so that the vision files can be sourced once more for journalist stories.
  • Converting analog tapes to digital format and archiving them in the system for future journalistic use.
  • Confirming shoot locations and 'cast' of vision files for accurate factual video metadata.
  • Communicating effectively daily with various facets of the newsroom including journalists, producers, editors, camera operators, legal team, and interstate bureaus

Additional Information

Recently I have been involved in assisting the NACA Library's Friday shoots with the ENG team. I have also completed shadow shifts with the ENG team where I got to learn about the equipment used, daily work-flows, general do's and don'ts as well as meet many of the people in the team.
